Kofi Annan, the Ghanian diplomat who was known for his exploit at the United Nations between January 1997 and December 2006 has bid the world a goodbye after a brief illness.
The former Secretary General of the UN was known for his various milestone successes at the global office died in a small Swiss village at the age of 80.
The internet has been busy with tributes to Mr Annan for his contribution to global peace and progress in humanitarian dispositions.
“It is with immense sadness that the Annan family and the Kofi Annan Foundation announce that Kofi Annan, former Secretary General of the United Nations and Nobel Peace Laureate, passed away peacefully on Saturday 18th August after a short illness”, the Foundation tweeted.
